Amaro Ramazzotti

In talking about this amaro it is proper to start from its history, which is characterized by great audacity and determination.

In 1️⃣8️⃣1️⃣5️⃣ Ausano Ramazzotti, inside a small laboratory in Milan, began experimenting by blending ingredients from all over the world 🌍 including: sweet orange peels, gentian, rhubarb, turmeric and rosemary.

Driven by a desire to produce a flavored drink perfect for any time of day, Ausano created a harmonious blend of 33 spices, herbs, flowers and fruits, the recipe for which is still secret and passed down through the ages.

In 1848, once he found the perfect location, a few steps from the Duomo of Milan, Ausano Ramazzotti opened a bar where he served the first Italian liqueur not to have wine as a base, to be drunk at all hours, with coffee, as an aperitif or as a digestive. Amaro Ramazzotti thus became the symbol of an era in Milan, its vibrancy and the new lifestyles that were being created. An Amaro with a unique taste, it was able to enchant first Milan, and then the rest of the world.

After Ausano's death, the Ramazzotti brothers relocated production to a new, larger distillery that, due to World War II bombing, would be entirely destroyed. The reconstruction of the distillery is a true testament to the determination and qualities of the Ramazzotti brothers, who in 1959 set out to conquer world markets, becoming an international icon with their unmistakable red and blue label 🔴🔵

Hints of herbs and sweet oranges. Slight undertones of cocoa and eucalyptus.

The palate is presented with mentholated and balsamic sensations , in a perfect amalgamation of herbaceous hints and alcohol, towards a long persistence full of bitter returns of gentian and rhubarb.

🥃 Ideal to enjoy straight after dinner.
